  • Planning Requirements

As EWI can change the appearance of a property, planning permission may be required. This is particularly relevant in conservation areas and on listed buildings so advice should be sought from your local planning office prior to any works taking place. If you insulate a solid wall you also have to make sure it complies with the current Building Regulations requirements in relation to thermal performance of your property, as a rough guide we will need to use around 90mm of insulation to achieve this, dependent on which material is used. We will be able to advise on the thickness of insulation required and assist with any planning or Building Control requirements to progress your application.

  • Additional Home Improvements

If you are planning any other home improvements new windows, extensions etc. it is advised to undertake these works in advance of the EWI installation. We will advise accordingly.

  • Preliminary Works and Installation

All enabling works and adaptations rainwater goods, waste pipes, overflow outlets, soil stacks, boiler flues, roof overhang, BT works, satellite dishes etc. are removed or adopted before installation. The EWI system will usually be installed from scaffold, application will occur whilst you remain in your property and disruption is minimal, however as part of the installation process drilling and mixing machines will be in use whilst work progresses.

  • Guarantees

A manufacturer’s material guarantee will be issued on every project once the installation is complete. You will also receive a 25 Year insurance backed guarantee against defective materials, design and workmanship in compliance with the Green Deal and the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) schemes. We will apply and process this on your behalf. The guarantee certificate should arrive within 6-10 weeks and give you long-lasting peace of mind.

  • Aftercare and Maintenance

We will provide you with an aftercare manual detailing how maintenance can be carried out for routine tasks such as cleaning, effecting minor repairs, modifying or adding new fixtures and fittings such as hanging baskets, satellite dishes etc.
